Every year is different with a new group of 4 year olds. Every child comes from a different home environment and they all have their different personalities. Some have never been away from their parents, so coming into a new environment makes them feel scared. We have to make them feel comfortable, secure, and earn their trust. We have to get them use to a daily routine and making learning fun for them.
Through the different curriculums and activities, the children are introduced to different kinds of learning. They learn to socialize with each other and have opportunities to make choices. They increase their skills in cooperative play; learn leadership through dramatic play activities. They recite rhymes and explore music through songs. They are introduced to letters and their sounds.
Have activities that promotes their reading, writing abilities, and math concepts. Not all children learn the same, but we try to prepare them for Kindergarten the best we can. These children mature a lot through out the year and learn to be independent. There is always some kind of learning going on in our classroom. If you ever feel bored and need a little excitement, come by and visit us [Room 16], we’ll be glad to have you. We always have fun!
