TTIPS Grant Kickoff/Title I
Minutes
Time scheduled for the open house was from 6:30 to 8:00
The evening began with a general assembly in the gym. Ms. Neudorf welcomed everyone. Ms. Neudorf turned the program over to lead teacher, Tanya Moroney.
Mrs. Moroney gave an overview of the activities that have been taking place in school this year. Student council members, parent volunteers and teachers then presented a skit to introduce the TTIPS grant that the school received.
Following the skit Ms. Neudorf explained the schedule for the remainder of the evening’s activities.
When parents signed in, they were offered the option of following junior high sessions/demonstrations or high school demonstrations. Parents were given a “ticket” with the order of the sessions they would attend. Sessions included showcasing new technology in the classrooms, as well as science lab demonstrations.
The parents were reminded that this was not a time for individual parent/teacher conferences, but rather a time to highlight activities taking place in the classroom. Parents were informed of the upcoming Parent/Teacher conferences that will take place in November.
Parents were then dismissed to attend the sessions. Each of the sessions was scheduled for 7 minutes with a 2 minute passing period between each. Bells signaled the start and finish of each session/rotation. There were 5 sessions set up for junior high parents and 4 sessions for high school.
Refreshments were served to all those who attended.
