Hart Elementary High Five Club

By Brenda Foster

Hart Elementary "High Five Club"

Hart Elementary has added a new program to motivate students to achieve their potential and establish good school ethics.  Since learning cannot take place if a student is not at school, to be part of the "High Five Club", students cannot have more than two absences and must have no tardies in a six weeks time period.  Along with attendance, behavior is very important in establishing a learning environment in the classroom, so a student must not have any office referrals during the six weeks.  Since learning is measured by grades, a student must have at least an 80 in all subject areas, but with math and science being our focuses this year those grades must be at least an 85.  Our goal would be to have all students in the "High Five Club" and we know this is possible with parent support!!  We have bright students at Hart Elementary School and we want to show off their talent.  The first six weeks a child joins the "High Five Club," a special designed turquoise shirt is earned to wear on Wednesdays showing their membership.  Each six weeks a new prize will be revealed for students continuing to achieve the criteria required to remain in the club.
